Oh Shoot! David Bonk signs with Nippon Paper Cranes

Six Year Asia League Vet signs with Cranes after tenure with Nikko Icebucks

David Bonk of Brandon, Manitoba reunites with his old linemate, Hiroki Uneo. The duo did some serious damage while with the Icebucks. Bonk always fierce competitor, will set up a goal, score a goal or push your nose to the back of your head depending on the situation. He joins a Cranes team that finished fifth last season and had quick departure from the playoffs.

The Cranes will depend on the Icebucks all-time leading scorer’s 61 points a season average to lead them to a better finish in 2017-18.

Anyang Halla Announce Influx of New Players for the 2017-18 Season

Having been relatively quiet since their Championship win, Anyang Halla has today released a list of the new players signed to the club for the upcoming season.

A total of 8 new players have been signed, the marquee signing being former Sakhalin Captain Ruslan Bernikov.

Bernikov is the first Russian player to play for a non-Russian team since Roman Pantyukhov lined out for the China Dragons back in the 2013-14 season.

Halla has also picked up free agents Scott Barney and Masahito Suzuki, formerly China Dragons. Suzuki will be the first Japanese player to play for Halla since Takayuki Ono way back in the 2010-11 season.

Yu Won Lee and Jun Il Jang both arrive from High1, although this won’t be the first time Yu Won has pulled on a Halla Jersey, having played 5 seasons with Halla previously between 2006 and 2011.

Sang Jin Park and Min Woo Lee both return to the Halla fold having played with Sangmu in the KIHL during their military service.

Former South Korea U-18 Goalie Jong Hun Chun has signed what appears to be his first professional contract.
