Inaugural Imjin-Pyeongchang International Youth Ice Hockey Tournament

From January 18-21, Goyang and Paju in South Korea will host the first-ever Commemorative Imjin-Pyeongchang International Youth Ice Hockey Tournament.

“Organized with the support of the Office of the Honorable Senator Yonah Martin, (Leader of the Opposition in the Canadian Senate) and the Canadian Embassy in Seoul, the tournament will commemorate the 65th anniversary of the end of the Korean War while also saluting the holding of the XXIII Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang, Republic of Korea in February 2018.” – Irish Ice Hockey Association website

Organized by Somang Hockey, based in Terrebonne, Canada, this is set to be an Under-12 tournament featuring 12 teams from Canada, USA, China, Hungary, Russia, Korea, Japan, and Ireland.

With the Asia League currently on a break until after the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, this could be a good opportunity for any South Korea residents to get their hockey fix.

No schedules as of yet, we will update this post when the schedule is available.

Good Luck to all the teams involved, especially the Canadian and Irish teams.
