Anyang Halla 3 Tohoku Free Blades 1
Goalies Hata Michio and Matt Dalton made a bunch of key saves in a close game last night. Both teams did a good job of jamming up the neutral zone, but there were a few breakaways and partial breaks that both goalies stood tall on.
Ahn Jung-Hyun start the scoring mid-1st period with a self pass while splitting two defenders and finishing off with a backhand wrap around.
The Blades had bunch f chances on the power play to close out the first but couldn’t get past Dalton.
The second period was tight until Halla with strong pressure and control scored during the middle of the frame. during 5 on 5 Eric took a pass from Alex Plante and wristed a shot through a screen beating Hata for his 6th goal..
The period also had the teams go on 5 power plays, but only the Blades had success on quick one-timer by Kawai Takuma who was left alone in the slot. He took a pass from Matt Pope and fired it glove side past Dalton.
The third period was interesting, if hitting on ice officials with pucks counted toward the score, the Blades would have won. For both teams is was irritating and so no scoring occurred until Mike Testwuide one-timed a feed from Shin Sang-Woo that pin-balled between Hata’s legs and in.
