PSC Sakhalin go for sweep of Daemyung Killer Whales today

Today is the third and final game of the home series between PSC Sakhalin and Daemyung Killer Whales on Sakhalin Island. The previous two games were 4-0 and 7-2 victories for Sakhalin.

Yesterday’s game saw Ruslan Bernikov score a hat trick and add 2 assists while Alexey Eremin had 2 goals and 3 assists. In net, Andrei Stelmakh won his first Asia League game with 18 saves on 20 shots.

Both Killer Whales’ goals came on back to back 5 on 3 power plays during the middle of the second period. Brett Parnham scored his first as a Whale after coming over from the China Dragon. Adam Estoclet added his second of the year just over a minute later. The goals were the the first for the Whales in 217 minutes stretching from the first game of the season and three consecutive shutouts.

Eum Hyun-Seung played in his second game and made his first start since coming out of a three year retirement. He made 44 saves on 50 shots.

NOTE: Daemyung’s  captain,  Kim Bum-Jin 김범진, has not played since the season opener vs Anyang Halla. He’s believed be out with an injury.
